In 2018, Midroll (a Stitcher company) commissioned and completed eleven podcast ad effectiveness studies from Nielsen, evaluating campaigns across eight major national brands. They found that podcast ads deliver significant lift in purchase intent, along with brand recall that outperforms digital display ads by as much as 4.4x.
“There was an average 10 percent lift in purchase intent among listeners exposed to a podcast ad. Sixty-one percent said they were likely to buy, compared to 56 percent of listeners who did not hear an ad.”
