North Miami Brewfest 2022 is in the books! This event, hosted by the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay campus, is now in it’s 10th year. And if you didn’t go, you missed a fantastic event. A ton of great beer, lots of incredible food, awesome seminars, and even a 360-degree camera I didn’t try. Before the event started, we set up some space and had a few great conversations. Our first discussion was with Chaplin School Faculty Administrator Mohammad Qureshi and Fermentation Lab Technician Albert Rivera. We spoke about the growth of the Chaplin School and the North Miami Brewfest. We also spoke about FIU’s own offerings at the event, including some of the best spent grain bread I’ve had. After that, just as the event really got started, I had a conversation with two Chaplin School alumni: Temple Street Eatery co-founder Alex Kuk and Cerveceria La Tropical head brewer Matthew Weintraub.
