It’s an all-spirits episode of the Florida Beer Podcast! We can’t live on beer alone…. So, we start with LS Cream Liqueur, based in Montreal and produced here in Jacksonville. It’s a liqueur based on the Haitian staple Cremas, and we speak to LS founders Myriam Jean-Baptiste and Stevens Charles about how their Haitian backgrounds influenced their desire to develop and produce one of the best cream liqueurs you’ll ever have. From there, we go south of the border with Anteel Tequila. They’re the first black female-owned and operated tequila brand, and it’s now available in Florida. We chat with co-founder Nayana Ferguson who, along with her husband Don, created and distributed three fantastic varieties of tequila, with more great flavors to come. Finally, we’re back in Tampa with Dark Door Spirits. Co-founder Matt Allen shines a light into this new distillery, including their vodka released to benefit local bartenders adversely affected by the pandemic. We also talk about their experience turning local craft beers into spirits, including a spirit made from Crooked Thumb’s IPA and a recent collaboration with Motorworks Brewing. Listen in…
